Katharine H Parker, the court judge handling Luigi Mangione‘s pre-trial trials, is married to Bret Parker, a former executive at Pfizer, a biotech firm, according to a Daily Beast statement. She also has economic ties to Pfizer, as she owns shares of the company.
Brian Thompson, 50, was the accused of killing Mangione as CEO of United Healthcare. On Monday, he entered a not-guilty petition in a New York court.
Judge Parker’s property investments
Judge Parker holds between$ 50, 000 and$ 100, 000 in Pfizer share, as reported by the Daily Beast. Separate journalist Ken Klippenstein first made this knowledge public on the social media platform X.
The Daily Beast report more says that Judge Parker also owns property in another healthcare firms, such as Abbott Laboratories, Viatris, and CRISPR Therapeutics. Also, she has investments in big tech firms, including Alphabet, Amazon, Microsoft, Tesla, and Apple.
Bret Parker, Judge Parker’s father, left Pfizer in 2010, where he served as vice president and associate public guidance. Before joining Pfizer, he held the same names at Wyeth, a pharmaceutical firm later acquired by Pfizer. According to Judge Parker’s disclosures, Bret continues to receive a pension from Pfizer through a senior executive retirement plan ( SERP ), as reported by Klippenstein
She is not expected to handle Mangione’s test, according to the Daily Beast record.
Crime committed by the CEO of UnitedHealthcare
Mangione is accused of attacking and killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, 50, while he was traveling to a convention in Manhattan. Officials believe the insurance company was upset by the assault. When Mangione was arrested in Pennsylvania, authorities discovered many false IDs, a US passport, and writings about the insurance business, including a statement that praised director Michael Moore’s criticism of care.
His alleged manifesto reads:” United is the]indecipherable ] largest company in the US by market cap, behind only Apple, Google, Walmart. The reality is, these]indecipherable ] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has ]allowed ] them to get away with it”.
