Russia launched a massive assault on Wednesday, bringing over 700 weapons and 100 robots in an “inhumane” abuse on Ukraine’s power system, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The attacks, which took place on Christmas, caused considerable loss, killed at least one individual, and more crippled the war-torn government’s power grid.
Zelenskyy claimed in a speech on X that Vladimir Putin had purposefully targeted Ukraine’s energy system.
” Every substantial Russian attack requires time for planning. It is never a unplanned choice. It is a purposeful choice, both in terms of targets and of time and schedule. Today, Putin consciously chose Christmas for an invasion. What could be more cruel”? Zelenskyy wrote.
” More than 70 weapons, including nuclear weapons, and more than a hundred attack robots. The goal is our strength system”, Ukrainian President added.
Russian Kalibr boat weapons were apparently fired from the Black Sea, and air raid sirens sounded all over the country.
As Ukraine prepares for its most challenging autumn since the war broke out nearly three years before, the tension is resuming with these attacks. Moscow is now launching more flying bombardments as its forces advance on the eastern forefront.
Over the past 24 time, the government of Kherson reported one accident and three wounds. Governor Sergiy Lysak issued a warning about an ongoing abuse on the Dnipropetrovsk country’s electricity grid, where freezing temperatures have increased the difficulties.
” The opponent is trying to destroy the country’s energy system”, Lysak wrote on Telegram, urging occupants to stay healthy during heat alerts. After earlier attacks on Christmas Eve, a 43-year-old gentleman was confirmed lifeless, with 17 others wounded.
Early on Wednesday, big missile fire hit the northern city of Kharkiv. The assault, according to Mayor Igor Terekhov, was a “massive missile attack,” with more ballistic missiles apparently en route and explosions reverberating through the city. The local government recorded seven attacks and at least three injuries.
Since February 2022, Russian troops have frequently targeted Ukraine’s energy system, leading to frequent energy disruptions and escalating human suffering. November saw a particularly powerful wave of attacks, with nearly 200 missiles and drones launched against Ukraine’s energy grid.
Zelenskyy claimed that Russia engaged in a “despicable increase” by using cluster bombs.
Ukraine has remained persistent in urging its allies to support more sophisticated air defense systems to safeguard its crucial equipment. Lately, the United States approved the use of long-range rockets by Russian forces, prompting solid warnings from Moscow.
Russia’s military government claimed on Wednesday to had shot downward 59 Ukrainian drones immediately. In addition, Moscow has reported the record of more than 190 Russian settlements this year, while Kyiv struggles with diminishing labor and weapons supplies.
This latest round of problems comes as Donald Trump’s opening as US president in January draws near. Trump has pledged to put an end to the fight right away, but he hasn’t given an exact timetable for how to achieve peace.
