The union barista strike by A&B, Starbucks Corp., has now spread to three additional US cities, affecting customer service as it approaches the crucifying holiday season.
Baristas from , Denver,  , Pittsburgh , and , Columbus, Ohio, did meet cuts that began on Friday in , Chicago,  , Los Angeles , and , Seattle, according to a union speech.
If Starbucks doesn’t honor its February commitment to end unfair labor practices, more city employees will work until Christmas Eve, according to the union.
The problems have had” no significant influence” to business activities and only” a small couple” of , U. S.  , businesses have been affected, Starbucks spokesperson , Phil Gee , said.
The Starbucks Workers United motion was planned to coincide with the holiday season, which is significant for the coffee shop because customers can enjoy coffee while shopping is being completed. In addition to drinks, the business sells a large amount of present cards during the year’s last months.
We value our partners ‘ right to engage in legal strike action, and we applaud the hundreds of partners who continue to support one another and provide the Starbucks experience to our clients, according to Gee.
According to the union, which represents workers at more than 500 company-operated Coffee locations around the US, a collapse in final-stage negotiations between the union and the business leadership led to the strikes. According to Starbucks Workers United, the coffee shop offered a deal that didn’t offer users any instant pay raises.
” We are ready and available to contract, but we need the coalition to come back to the table,” Gee said. ” Agreements require give-and-take and working through proposals, certainly walking ahead”.
According to employees, several businesses don’t have enough staff to handle the complex orders that come through the Starbucks mobile apps.
