Donald Trump, the president-elect, has sparked yet another controversy by refusing to expand Christmas greetings to national death-row prisoners whose earlier this week, US President Joe Biden commuted their sentences.
He criticised Biden’s mercy selection, telling the individuals to” GO TO HELL”.
Trump, on his social media platform Truth Social, wrote,” To the 37 most violent criminals, who killed, raped, and plundered like almost no one before them, but were really given, very, a reprimand by Sleepy Joe Biden”.
” I refuse to wish a Merry Christmas to those lucky’ hearts ‘ but, rather, did say, GO TO HELL”!
President Biden, 82, commuted the words of 37 out of 40 people on national suicide column on Monday, converting their words to life prison without parole. According to the New York Post, the listing reportedly includes at least five child murderers and some mass murderers.
Trump added that the people are aware that getting clemency from” a person who has absolutely no idea what he is doing” is their only chance of surviving.
The White House claimed that the choice was a part of Biden’s wider campaign to promote a” just and effective justice system.”
