In response to persistent tensions in the Taiwan Strait, the ministry of national defense ( MND ) reported early on Saturday that seven Chinese military aircraft and five naval vessels were operating close to its territory.
Up until 6 am ( UTC+8 ) today, 5 PLAN vessels and 7 PLA aircraft were found operating in Taiwan. One of the aircraft crossed Taiwan’s northern Air Defense Identification Zone ( ADIZ ) and entered the median line. We have closely followed the position and taken appropriate action,” the MND stated on X.
Following reports of similar businesses in the previous days, this indicates a culmination of Taiwanese military activity in the area. On Friday, Taiwan’s MND noted the presence of five Chinese aviation and five marine warships, and on Thursday, five PLAN vessels were detected operating near the island.
Geopolitical hostilities continue to be at the heart of the Taiwan Strait. Japan, a near neighbor and key supporter of Taiwan, has expressed concern about the region’s growing military activity. In a conference with Wang Yi, a Taiwanese counterpart, on Wednesday, Asian foreign secretary Iwaya Takeshi stressed the significance of regional and global security as well as the importance of stability and peace across the Taiwan Strait.
Additionally, Nato Secretary-General Mark Rutte criticized China’s steps, accusing Beijing of “bullying Taiwan” and attempting to take control of essential equipment in ways that could destabilize societies. He highlighted China’s expanding military features, including its atomic army, as a reason for international problem.
” We need to get clear-eyed about China’s interests. Without any transparency or restrictions, China is dramatically expanding its causes, including its nuclear weapons. From 200 weapons in 2020, China is expected to have more than 1, 000 atomic weapons by 2030″, Rutte said.

Taiwan is regarded by China as a significant component of its place, and it is not opposed to using push to reunite the two countries.
