Syracuse authorities confirmed this morning that Destiny USA has been partially closed due to a security concern.
Authorities are investigating a possible danger to the store, with law enforcement agencies, including the Rome Police Department, involved in the sensor.
The closing is being taken “out of an abundance of precaution”, authorities said.
When the store shut down quickly before 10:30 am, and by 11 is, New York State Police had blocked all of the doors to the mall’s driving areas. At this stage, no more facts have been provided regarding the nature of the threat, as per Syracuse .com.
” The safety and security of customers, workers, and residents remain our highest priority”, said Syracuse Police, quoted by LocalSYR.com.
As information becomes available regarding the situation and the mall’s reopening, “updates may become provided.”
Syracuse authorities are continuing their research, however, no further data has been released.
The store is currently closed.
Destiny USA, as per its web, is New York’s largest shopping, dining, and entertainment place, offering over 250 places to shop, feed, and enjoy.
