Laura Loomer, the questionable Trump follower and self-proclaimed “proud Islamophobe”, has sparked a storm within MAGA lines, threatening to call for a ban of the activity in the 2026 exams. Her growing conflict with technical tycoons Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy is intensifying, with Loomer accusing them of betraying British workers.
The beginning of the conflict: H-1B Visas and foreign workers
Loomer’s rage was primarily triggered by President-elect Donald Trump’s session of Indian-American investor Sriram Krishnan as a senior policy director on AI. Krishnan’s support for H-1B visas, which allow highly skilled foreign workers to enter the U. S., particularly from India, set off a series of inflammatory social media posts by Loomer, who has long voiced her opposition to foreign-born workers in Silicon Valley.
Escalating rhetoric and backlash
In a series of fiery tweets, Loomer referred to workers from India as” third-world invaders” and disparaged their home country, even making highly controversial statements about India’s sanitation issues. Her rhetoric quickly grew, and critics who had accused her of racism criticized her. Loomer found support from some far-right figures, including those who support white supremacist Nick Fuentes, despite this.
Krishnan’s green card proposal sparks more controversy
After Krishnan’s earlier suggestion to end the restrictions on green cards for skilled immigrants came back up, the conflict grew even more. Lopez claimed that American STEM students were unfairly pushed out of job opportunities and that this was an attempt by tech elites to “flood” the United States with foreign workers.
Musk dismisses Loomer as a” troll”
Musk, who has voiced support for increasing skilled immigration to fill gaps in the tech industry, dismissed Loomer’s criticisms, calling her a” troll” seeking attention. Loomer responded by double-thinking, blaming Musk of being influenced by the Chinese government and questioning his loyalty to Trump.
Loomer’s attacks on Krishnan and tech-elite ties
Amid her attacks on Musk, Loomer also took issue with Krishnan’s ties to Democratic congressman Ro Khanna, accusing the tech industry of undermining MAGA values by supporting anti-Trump politicians.
MAGA’s future relationship with Silicon Valley in question
Loomer’s remarks have sparked a wider debate in MAGA circles about the relationship between the movement and Silicon Valley and whether those like Musk and Ramaswamy truly align with the base. The future of the movement is being shaped by Loomer’s continued social media tirade, her calls for a boycott, and questions about Trump’s relationship with Musk and the tech elite.
