Calling Rivkin a” superstar”, Trump praised him as” a great lawyer, scholar, and defender of mine”. Expressing his condolences to Rivkin’s wife, Diana, and family, Trump noted that Rivkin’s loss will be “greatly missed.”

David B. Rivkin Jr. was a highly regarded lawyer and constitutional professor with an amazing career spanning legal, administrative, and global laws. As a companion at BakerHostetler LLP, he co-led the firm’s appeal and significant gestures class, where he handled various high-profile cases.
Rivkin became a household name when the US Supreme Court heard a case involving the Affordable Care Act’s propriety before him in 2012. His involvement in this instance marked a significant turning point in his career.
Worldwide, Rivkin represented Croatia at the International Criminal Tribunal and the International Court of Justice, focusing on international humanitarian law and military rules. His experience spanned to matters relating to national safety, including those involving Donald Rumsfeld, former US Secretary of Defense, and cases involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, environmental laws, and sanctions compliance.
