Runway too short? Key details about South Korea plane crash that claimed over 160 lives

On Sunday, a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok to South Korea crashed during its getting effort at Muan Airport. The Boeing 737-800, carrying 181 persons, burst into flames leaving all but two feared useless.
How’s what we know so much about the fall:
Shortly after 9: 00 am ( local time ), the low-cost carrier’s aircraft encountered trouble. During its first landing effort, the power tower had warned the captain of a possible bird strike. Minutes later, the captain issued a” Mayday” caution, and the aircraft attempted a second landing.
In serious film, the plane is seen skidding along the airport in a “belly getting” with its getting equipment retracted. As the aircraft crashes into a roof at the runway’s end, leaving smoke trails behind it and ignominating itself.
    What are the possible factors?
Officials believe a combination of bird strikes and bad weather may have caused the crash, despite the investigation being continued. Concerns about the runway’s suitability were immediately dismissed.
” The airport is 2, 800 feet long, and similar-sized plane have been operating on it without problems”, said an aircraft standard.
A bird hit, a known aircraft risk, occurs when birds interact with an plane in flight. For attacks can result in significant harm, especially if animals are sucked into aircraft engines.

    Timetable of the accident
South Korea’s government of territory provided a comprehensive timeframe, stating that Jeju Air Flight 2216 carried 181 people, including two Thai immigrants, and six staff members. The pilot’s distress call was answered at 9:03 am, and the accident took place within three hours.
    Passengers and individuals
Out of the 181 crew, just two have been pulled out from the wreckage by rescue workers. Thus far, 151 murders have been confirmed. Because the aircraft was “almost fully destroyed,” officials worry there is little chance of finding more survivors.
Families of the victims gathered at Muan Airport’s first ground, some in grief as they awaited changes.
    Recovery work
Thousands of firefighters, military officers, and emergency responders rushed to the accident page. The site was designated a particular disaster zone by South Korea’s standing leader Choi Sang-mok, allowing for extensive express support for the rescue and recovery operations.

No words of comfort would be sufficient for the grieving families who have experienced this tragedy, Choi said in a speech addressed to the nation. The whole government is collaborating to control the aftereffects and offer unwavering support.
    Jeju Air’s comment
Kim E-bae, the CEO of Jeju Air, expressed regret and condolences to the families of the victims and accepted complete responsibility for the drama.
” Regardless of the cause, I take full responsibility as the CEO”, Kim stated. The airline pledged to totally cooperate with the inquiries and offer the needed assistance to the damaged families.
    Aviation health report
This is the first fatal collision in the history of Jeju Air. This incident is a unique and horrible anomaly because South Korea’s aircraft industry has a strong safety record. Recently, in 2007, a Jeju Air Bombardier Q400 veered off the airport due to strong breezes, causing minor injuries.
