Around 70, 000 people without authority
Malary White, key communications official for the country’s Emergency Management Agency, said about 71, 000 energy customers were without electricity in Mississippi, with that number expected to increase.
According to White, first firefighters were focused on ensuring security and accountability for all.
” We do foresee more complete damage evaluations to begin in the early morning hours,” she continued.
Health alert issued
The Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol issued a health alert warning citizens about potential obstacles while traveling.
” Sunshine conditions are expected to increase immediately. Troop M is now dealing with fallen trees, dust, and downed energy ranges throughout the city. These risks are being addressed as they occur, making it challenging to pinpoint specific sites. If you must go, remain call and be prepared for obstacles, particularly around contours and over valley crests”, it said.
The National Weather Service’s scientist, Josh Lichter, predicted that the more west you travel, the more severe the storms will become.
