An Iraqi couple was charged with servitude, torture, and war crimes by European federal prosecutors on Monday, alleging they kidnapped two young Yazidi women and sexually abused them brutally.
According to the prosecutor’s report, Twana H. S. and Asia R. A, according to the Associated Press, were people of the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria between October 2015 and December 2017.
They reportedly enslaved a 5-year-old Yazidi woman in late 2015 and a 12-year-old Yazidi female starting in October 2017. In April, they were detained in Bavaria.
According to the allegations, the female facilitated these works by setting up the room and covering one victim with makeup while the man committed multiple sexual assaults on both girls.
The survivors were subjected to severe physical abuse, and it was forbidden to practice their faith. Under pressure, they were forced to perform home chores and provide care.
The older child was reportedly struck with a stick by a woman, who allegedly burned the younger woman’s hand with hot water in some instances. As punishment, both kids were forced to stand on one knee for thirty minutes.
Prior to leaving Syria in November 2017, the accused transferred the girls ‘ prison to another IS members. The attorney’s statement more concluded that” All of this served the organisation’s goal to eliminate the Yazidi faith”.
