Shocking discovery: 150 explosive devices found on Virginia property, the largest cache of its kind in FBI history

The Federal Bureau of Investigation just uncovered 150 incendiary devices, mostly hose explosives, at a Virginia home—a memory federal prosecutors have called the largest selection of “finished violent devices” in the FBI’s background. A Virginia person, Brad Spafford, has been arrested in connection with the discovery. He was first detained for allegedly possessing an unlicensed short-barreled weapons.

Following a single-count legal complaint alleging his unlawful possession of an unlicensed short-barrel weapons, Brad Spafford was detained on December 17 at a plantation near Norfolk.

150 incendiary devices discovered
Upon searching Spafford’s 20-acre house in Isle of Wight County, governmental agencies discovered over 150 incendiary devices, mostly tube weapons, in a detached garage. Some were marked “lethal”. Additional pipe bombs were found inside Spafford’s home within a backpack displaying a grenade-shaped patch and a “# NoLivesMatter” logo, according to prosecutors.
The “# NoLivesMatter” logo is associated with a far-right ideology promoting violence.
Lawyers in US District Court in Norfolk requested evidence to support their request to keep Spafford locked up until the trial. They referred to the explosives that were discovered as the largest “finished violent devices” selection in FBI history.
Neighbor alerted government
The research into Spafford began in 2023 after a roommate alerted officials, as reported by the site Court Watch. Spafford allegedly worked with a handmade incendiary and lost three fingers on his right side. The neighbor claimed that Spafford was accumulating weapons and ammunition and that he was “preparing for things” he “would not be able to perform only.”
According to the neighbor, Spafford believed “political killings may be brought back” and used President Biden’s images for target-setting. After the attempted assault on then-President-elect Trump in July, Spafford reportedly told his cousin he “hoped the gunman doesn’t lose Kamala”.
During an October visit to Spafford’s land, the cousin, wearing a tracking system, said Spafford discussed having various bombs and ideas to defend his house with” a 360-degree tower” for a.50-caliber weapons.
