DAMASCUS: Syria’s fresh officials announced on Tuesday that Bashar al-Assad, the military commander of the Islamist organization responsible for the uprising that led to the uprising, had been appointed defense minister in the transitional government.
General Murhaf Abu Qasra has been nominated as defense secretary in the new state of the Syrian Arab Republic, according to a statement released by the standard news organization SANA.
