Taiwan detects 2 Chinese aircraft, 7 navy vessel near island

Taiwan claimed on Wednesday that it had detected seven navy ships and two Chinese aircraft entering the island nation’s Southwest Air Defense Identification Zone ( ADIZ ) after they crossed the median line.
According to Taiwan’s ministry of national security, one of the two PLA aircraft crossed the median range and entered ADIZ in the northern and southern regions.
Up until 6 a.m., 2 Army aviation and 7 Prepare vessels operating around Taiwan were discovered in a post shared on X, according to the MND.

In a post shared on X, the MND said,” 5 PLA aircraft and 6 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a. m. ( UTC+8 ) today. Three of the airplane entered Taiwan’s northern and southern ADIZ after crossing the middle range. We have monitored the position and responded appropriately”.
Earlier, the MND reported five Chinese People’s Liberation Army ( PLA ) aircraft and six People’s Liberation Army Navy ( PLAN ) vessels operating near Taiwan.
Following accounts of comparable activities in the previous days, this is the latest indication of Taiwanese military activity in the area. On Friday, Taiwan’s MND noted the presence of five Chinese aviation and five marine warships, and on Thursday, five PLAN vessels were detected operating near the island.
Geopolitical hostilities continue to be at the heart of the Taiwan Strait. Japan, a near neighbor and major supporter of Taiwan, has expressed concern over the escalating military activity in the area.
In a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Wednesday, Chinese foreign secretary Iwaya Takeshi reiterated the importance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, highlighting its crucial role in regional and global stability.
