When three Republicans joined together to support other candidates, Speaker Mike Johnson had an initial impression that it would be an uphill struggle. However, after some obvious conversations or last-minute alterations of soul, two of the dissenters switched their vote, handing Johnson a first-round success.  ,
The intra-party dispute paled in comparison to the second Kamala took center stage in the Senate, despite the speaker voting play being embarrassing for the GOP.

Kamala emerged from hiding on Friday because she was tasked with swearing in novel senators, a position she had not previously seen since the vote. Her return to the Senate ground might have provided an opportunity to reaffirm her impact. Rather, it turned into a time of public shame.  ,

It served as a brief but metaphorical reminder of how awful Kamala is. She demonstrated that she is terrible in both of her political campaigns. For a vice president whose reputation has been defined more by errors than accomplishments, her inability to understand the comments to something that any American first student knows by heart is terribly on brand.  ,
