Previous state office representative Morgan Ortagus will become the assistant special political minister for Middle East serenity during his second administration, according to US President-elect Donald Trump‘s announcement on Saturday. She will be working under Steven Witkoff, Trump’s candidate for specific minister to the Middle East.
Trump made the appointment of Ortagus on his Truth Social program.
In his position, Trump stated,” I am pleased to introduce Morgan Ortagus to the Honorable Steven Witkoff as Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for Middle East Harmony.
Who is Morgan Ortagus?
Morgan Ortagus is a senior intelligence official for the US army, having worked in both politics and national security.
She served as the department of state under Mike Pompeo between 2019 and 2021, where she aided the groundbreaking Abraham Accords, which, according to Trump, brought about unmatched peace in the Middle East.
Before her position at the express office, she served as a financial intelligence researcher at the office of the bank and, from 2010 to 2011, was the assistant US government attaché to Saudi Arabia.
