Previous President Jimmy Carter‘s tomb emerged from Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia, on Saturday, set to begin his journey to Washington D. C., where he will stay in position.
Less than a week after his death, his body traveled through his hometown of Grasslands, Georgia, with supporters and community trailing the coffin.

His wife is buried there, and his funeral procession passed by his long-standing Prairies house. Rosemary Carter passed away in 2023 at the age of 96. Afterwards, Jimmy Carter will join her in a secret burial on Thursday.
The Jimmy Carter Boyhood Farm, where he lived until 1941, is presently a National Park Service page. A group of National Park Service guards and other workers chanted a farm bell 39 times as his coffin rang in honor of Carter as the 39th leader as his hearse passed.
Carter frequently claimed that the sound of the bell was the measure of time rather than the time. As he drove down the road and northwest toward Atlanta, the same bell that rang within sight as he was a child. Before becoming leader, he served four times as a state legislator and four as governor before becoming one of the state’s four governors. Along the way, another memorial events are planned.
Mayor of Atlanta, Andre Dickens (D-GA ), and governor of Georgia are among the popular figures. Brian Kemp (R-GA ) will greet the procession with a moment of silence. From Saturday evening until Tuesday, Carter’s system may be kept in open repose before being flown to Washington, D.C.

Thursday will be the Washington National Cathedral’s formal service.

In a Truth Social post, he wrote,” The Democrats are all’giddy’ about the possibility of our beautiful American Flag being at “half tower” during my inauguration.
