Joe Budden, a rapper and songwriter, has been charged with naughtiness in New Jersey after his cousin allegedly caught him posing for a doorbell camera while trying to enter their apartment.
Around 7: 21 a.m. on December 4, the reported incident occurred at an apartment complex in Edgewater, and it was initially reported by police on Monday.
The ( doorbell camera ) video showed Budden repeatedly attempting to enter a code into the door keypad before returning to his own home across the hall,” read a press release from Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin. ” As a result of police investigation, Budden was charged with lewdness ( disorderly persons offense ) on a complaint summons”.
He’s due to appear in court on Jan. 16, according to Billboard.
The 44-year-old entertainer’s lawyer complained to Fox about the police office, claiming that Budden had originally filed “possible criminal charges against the persons behind these charges against him” and that this should have been taken into account before the cops made the media release on Budden’s accusations public.
” The claims against Mr. Budden are a small fee, not perhaps resulting in an arrest”, his attorney added. ” The mayor’s responses are irresponsible, and , in our mind racially motivated. This year, according to our research, the authorities website hasn’t released a single press release about a disorderly people demand. His decision to one out Mr. Budden in our mind is self-motivated and based off of Mr. Budden’s culture and star position”.
A Daily News request for information has not been returned by the Edgewater Police Department.
Budden, who , hosts a radio bearing his name, has previously talked about being booted from his house for recording his podcast that, according to TMZ. He recently discussed sleepwalking dressed on his present.
” I merely sleptwalked there I don’t own sleptwalked”, he told his co-hosts around the time the alleged incident occurred.  ,” Great dressed sleeping. I only did it once”.
Budden was born and raised in East Harlem and was raised in the Garden State when he was a girl. He won the Grammy nomination for Best Male Rap Solo Performance for his hit song” Pump It Up” in 2003. He recently performed with the hip-hop group Slaughterhouse and appeared on , VH1’s” Like &, Hip Hop: New York”.
