Elon Musk has called for Nigel Farage to step down as leader of Reform UK, suggesting the party needs a new leader to move forward.
Farage had spent time praising him, calling the tycoon a “hero” and asserting that he had made the gathering “look cool,” before Musk made his remarks.
Musk, however, took to social media platform X, saying,” The Reform Party needs a new president. Farage doesn’t have what it takes”. Despite Musk’s claim that he would donate millions to Reform UK to support the party in the future standard vote, this unexpected move was made.
The two gentlemen had recently met with Reform UK’s manager, Nick Candy, at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago palace to explain the group’s potential. But, just after Farage’s reward, Musk apparently changed his stance on the matter.
Farage, evidently taken off, responded to Musk on X, saying:” Well, this is a surprise! Elon is a remarkable person, but on this I am afraid I disagree. Tommy Robinson is not my ideal transformation candidate, in my opinion, and I always sell out my rules.
Farage’s unwillingness to help Musk’s request for the transfer of imprisoned political activist Tommy Robinson appears to be the source of the gap between Musk and Farage. Farage does not believe that Robinson, who is currently serving an 18-month word for contempt of court, is a number the group should pay attention to as it tries to win the next election.
Despite this dispute, Farage continued to defend Musk’s remarks about UK officials, including Labour’s Jess Phillips and Sir Keir Starmer. Musk had suggested that Phillips “deserves to be in jail” and attacked Starmer over his report as Director of Public Prosecutions, claiming he failed to bring “rape groups” to righteousness.
Regarding X, Farage defended Musk’s apply of” strong words” and praised him for creating a program for free speech. Although Farage claimed that this man is the richest man in the world, the fact that he has purchased Online today gives us a place to hold honest open debate, as he once said.
Reviewers, such as poll Luke Tryl, argued that without Farage, Reform UK may struggle to gain momentum in the poll, adding that” Musk has no control on English politics”.
