In a post on social media app X, businessman Elon Musk posted a request for Sir Keir Starmer’s resignation, describing him as a “national shame.”
The comments come after Musk has repeatedly criticized Starmer’s handling of grooming gangs while serving as a DPP ( Director of Public Prosecutions ) director from 2008 to 2013.
In a series of messages, Musk accused Starmer of failing to bring “rape groups” to justice, particularly targeting Pakistani-Muslim cleaning groups that had carefully exploited young women. Musk’s feedback have drawn strong reactions, with health minister Wes Streeting calling Musk’s condemnation “misjudged and truly misinformed”.
Musk also criticized Starmer’s state for its alleged involvement, and he called for fresh elections despite the Labour Party’s overwhelmingly popular defeat in July 2024. Critics, including poll Luke Tryl, have argued that Musk, who is extremely involved in American elections, “has no control on English politicians”.
Musk’s notes went beyond the cleaning situations. He even criticized Jess Phillips, the secretary for the prevention of violence against women and women, and said she “deserves to be in jail” because she opposed a federal investigation into the Oldham incident.
Musk remained in favor of questionable far-right find Tommy Robinson, who is now serving a jail sentence for contempt of court. He described Robinson as being jailed” for telling the truth” and demanded his discharge, posting” Free Robinson” on X.
When Musk attacked Reform UK head Nigel Farage on X, urging him to move along, his role in English politics took a new direction. Musk stated,” Farage doesn’t have what it takes”, and suggested that the group needs a fresh leader.
Musk appeared to support this assertion, calling for a successor and allegedly praising Rupert Lowe as a possible president. He stated,” I have never met Rupert Lowe, but his remarks online that I have read so much make a lot of impression.”
Some people accuse Musk of supporting far-right movements in Europe, but his increasing engagement in American politics has sparked debate.
