Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, has stated that the late tested new hypersonic missile system will help deter foes in the government’s Pacific region. The check was held in conjunction with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken‘s travels to Japan and South Korea.
North Korea tested a new hypersonic missile system this week, state media reported Tuesday.
Kim, who oversaw the launch, was quoted as saying,” The hypersonic missile system will reliably contain any rivals in the Pacific region that can affect our state’s security,” according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA ).
According to Kim, the weapon travelled at 12 times the speed of sound before getting in the sea and flew 1,500 meters. South Korea’s government reported a shorter trip range of 1, 100 meters. This is North Korea’s second weapon check since November, when it launched a solid-fuel ICBM.
Kim said the weapon start was for self-defense. ” This is obviously a strategy and work for self-defence, not an unpleasant strategy and action”, Kim said. Despite claiming protective purposes, Kim also stressed the rocket’s capabilities. The performance of this missile” could not be ignored anywhere in the world,” he said, adding that it could “deal a major martial strike to a foe while successfully breaking any dense defensive barrier.”
Kim praised North Korea’s devotion to bolstering its military, saying that” the DPRK’s commitment to strengthening its defense will be further accelerated.”
Photos released by state advertising showed Kim’s child, Ju Ae, observing the release with him. The precise location of the test remains unknown.
Blinken’s visit to South Korea, a significant strategic alliance and long-standing enemy of the North, coincided with the test, which was officially also at war with.
US, South Korea condemn weapon start
Blinken and Cho Tae-yul, a foreign minister in South Korea, have condemned the start. Blunken emphasized the need to expand the relationship between Japan and South Korea. He also expressed his concerns about growing storage systems cooperation between North Korea and Russia. Blinken expressed concern that Russia might permit North Korea to become a atomic power.
South Korea, the US, and Japan’s nuclear ambassadors held a visit to denounce the start. According to information obtained through knowledge information, North Korea has been reportedly sending troops to Ukraine to fight.
