On Monday, President Joe Biden made an executive order to stop fresh oil and natural gas drilling on more than 625 million hectares of offshore and maritime U.S. land.
In a speech from the White House on Monday, Biden said,” I am taking action to protect the East and West coasts, the northeast Gulf of Mexico, and Alaska’s Northern Bering Sea from oil and natural gas drilling and the damage it can produce.”
President-elect Donald Trump may have trouble reversing the administrative order by using Biden’s use of the 1953 Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. Under the approaching Trump administration, the channel noted that Congress may be required to take action to change Biden’s decision.
In Monday’s speech, Biden said that onshore cutting” could cause irreversible injury to places we hold dear and is needless to satisfy our nation’s power needs”.
” It is not for the hazards”, Biden said. Now is the time to guard these shores for our children and grandchildren as the weather issue threatens communities across the nation and as we transition to a clean energy economy.
The president claimed that by conserving over 670 million acres of National land and water over the past four years, he “delivered on the most ambitious culture and protection plan in our country’s story.”

We don’t need to make a decision between keeping our oceans good, our coastlines adaptable, and the meals they produce safe, and keeping power prices low, according to Biden. ” Those are false choices. The right thing to do is to protect America’s shores and oceans, which will enable areas and the business to prosper for generations to come.
Following Biden’s executive actions on Monday, Karoline Leavitt, who has been nominated to lead Trump’s White House press team, said in a speech on X, formerly Twitter, that” this is a terrible choice designed to specific social revenge on the British people who gave President Trump the authority to raise cutting and lower gasoline prices. Rest assured, Joe Biden does fail, and we will drilling, girl, drill”.
In a Truth Social article on Monday, Trump made an appearance in reference to Biden’s ban on new oil and gas drilling.
