Luigi Mangione, 26, was accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City, and fresh information have emerged in the case. It is claimed that the 26-year-old visited an expensive firing selection in Thailand just weeks before the killing.
Paul and Max, two European tourists traveling together across Asia, claimed Mangione decided to skip a day at the beach and explore the shooting range. According to the New York Post, the couple made the revelations in a video called” Luigi Mangione: The Mind of a Killer,” which was broadcast on TMZ.
Mangione, who had left the US early last season, was described by the German travellers as being greatly curious in the book” Hit Change: New Ideas From Old Books” by American publisher Jash Dholani. The guide, which delves into theoretical ideas, appeared to attract Mangione. The travelers claimed Mangione also purchased 400 copies of the book and traveled to Mumbai to join the writer.
Thompson was killed in what police have described as a “targeted attack,” reportedly by him on December 4 when he reportedly carried out a targeted shooting outside a posh Midtown hotel.
Thompson, CEO of United Healthcare, had been receiving threats due to his death. His partner, Paulette, revealed that her father had been warned of possible risk before the horrible affair.
Following the incident, a nationwide manhunt was launched, culminating in Mangione’s imprisonment in Pennsylvania after five times on the run. He pleaded not guilty to the charges at his trial despite being charged with several matters relating to the dying.
Protests erupted in New York City in response to the event, with protesters holding symptoms reading” Deny, defend, depose”, a word supposedly engraved on the guns used to remove Thompson.
Mangione, an Ivy League grad and tech analyst, had criticised the heath business in a declaration before the death. Some online people expressed their support for him after the shooting, actually starting a fundraising campaign to help with his legal defense, which raised thousands of dollars.
