Imran Khan’s conviction in the GBP 190 million fraud circumstance against former prime minister Imran Khan has been postponed by a Muslim court. According to the employees of the Islamabad transparency court, the verdict is then scheduled for January 13.
The pause was attributed to Judge Nasir Javed Rana’s left, the court personnel said. Both the National Accountability Bureau ( NAB) prosecutor and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ( PTI ) founder’s lawyers have been informed about the postponement. This is the second wait in the circumstance. Initial reservations for December 18 were made for December 23.
What is the situation?
According to the allegations, Khan and his family Bushra Bibi were given property and billions of rupees by Bahria Town. In trade, they reportedly legalized £190 million returned to Pakistan by the UK during Khan’s tenure in office.
In December 2023, the NAB filed a corruption reference against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ( PTI ) founder, Bushra Bibi, and several others. The research focused on the reported sale of hundreds of acres of terrain for the Al-Qadir University Trust, which allegedly resulted in a Pound 190 million damage to the country’s government.
According to the allegations, Imran Khan and other suspects misappropriated PKR 50 billion, which was then equivalent to GBP 190 million, which the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA ) had transferred to the Pakistani government.
As part of the research, NAB filed a problem research against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and six people in connection with the Al-Qadir University task, which was first registered on December 26, 2019.
Imran Khan “broke all files”
Khawaja Asif, the defense secretary of Pakistan, just reiterated the allegations against Khan in this case. Imran Khan “broke all information” according to Asif, who further claimed that Khan and his associates were seriously involved in corrupt actions.
