On January 6, 2021, no Capitol police commander was killed, but Attorney General Merrick Garland’s unscrupulous statement about the opposition, which was made public on Monday, might have led people to reconsider.
” On this day, four years ago, officers officials were viciously assaulted while gallantly defending the US Capitol. They were punched, tackled, tased, and attacked with chemical officials that burned their eyes and skin”, Garland said. Now, I’m thinking of the soldiers who are still enduring the scarring left over from that day as well as the families of the five soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty as a result of what transpired on January 6, 2021.
Not a single accused from the January 6 was charged with murder or crime, which is perhaps why.
Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural reasons on Jan. 7 after suffering two breaths, according to the Washington D. C. chief medical examiner. However, members of the advertising media spent months disclosing to America that Sicknick had been fatally beaten with a fire hose during the demonstration ( I’m looking at you, New York Times ). My partner Jordan Boyd pointed out the severe exist in other retailers, including The Associated Press, BBC, and USA Today.
Four additional officers, two of whom were not present for the exact protest, died by suicide within the first few months of the demonstration. Metropolitan Police Officer Kyle DeFreytag did not attend the actual demonstration, but he eventually “helped uphold the law put in place after a crowd of followers” of then-President Donald Trump entered the Capitol Building, according to People Magazine. Officer Gunther Hashida also committed suicide after not attending the rebellion and intervening in it.
In fact, The Washington Post reported that” Authorities drew no connection between the riot and] Hashida’s ] death”.
Hashida had challenges that could have been a part of the investigation that an official familiar with the inspection said, according to the statement.
According to The New York Times, Robert J. Contee III, the captain of the Metropolitan Police Department, said that he was unable to determine whether the riots were the cause of the deaths.
On January 6, 2021, Ashli Babbitt was the only person who was truly killed, as was Lt. Michael Byrd of Capitol Police fatally shot. After she attempted to enter the lobby of the House room, Byrd fatally shot Babbitt. In connection with the shooting of Babbitt, Byrd has never been charged.
Garland’s choice to use these mental talking points, like the four soldiers ‘ deaths, is nothing more than a politically inspired attempt to justify his chaotic Department of Justice and their social persecution of hundreds of peaceful demonstrators.
