In a letter to the Hamas criminal organization in Gaza, Ryan Routh, who is already in federal prison for allegedly trying to assassinate President-elect Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential election cycle, offered to take himself as captive to support “restart the serenity process” in the Middle East.
Will you accompany me to Gaza and give to Hamas in trade for a prisoner life, choose? asked Routh in a letter obtained by The New York Post. By offering your support for the restarting of the peace process and the end of this war, may you help me put an end to the killings of innocent children and families?
” I do say that I am willing to surrender in Gaza… only to resume the serenity conversation”, Routh added in the email. According to the New York Post, Routh suggested that Israel would no longer need to wage a war against the criminal organization in Gaza if he and another good Samaritans were prepared to take the place of the Jewish citizens now held hostage by Hamas.
While Routh remains in federal prison, the would-be Trump killer claimed he had “unlimited period and money to travel to D. C. Qatar, Gaza, or anywhere else to give the new captives”.

In addition to offering himself as a Hamas prisoner, Routh criticized the reaction of American officials to the pro-Palestinian demonstrations at colleges across the nation following the extremist group’s assault on Israel in October 2023.
It was “extremely sad when our US officials destroyed the tent places that the University students for Gaza created,” according to Routh.
According to The New York Post, Routh also made an appearance in” It’s a Wonderful Life” with George Bailey.
” I wish for a world where we always put in more than we take out, and I don’t care about money or material things but don’t want our companions to battle it out all over the world,” Routh said. ” I feel as George Bailey, wondering if there is support and value in honor, dignity, righteousness, meek, modest, altruism, magnanimity, empathy, kindness, caring]and ] sacrifice”.
The New York Post reported that the packet of Routh’s letter contained his name, jail identification number, and captivity target. The outlet noted that the article’s integrity was confirmed by his 31-year-old child, Sara Routh.
Discussing Ryan Routh’s text, Sara Routh told The New York Post,” I have tried to push it but nobody has responded and I haven’t gotten much of anything. I’ve tried reaching out to the Qatari and Egyptian ministries of international affairs, but I haven’t received much.
