The chairman and CEO of , Columbia-based , Tenable Holdings , died , Jan. 3, the security firm said.
Amit Yoran, who led the firm through a period of growth and a 2018 initial public offering, died of malignancy, Tenable said in an announcement Saturday. He became the company’s CEO in 2016. Yoran was 54.
” His passion for cybersecurity, his strategic vision, and his ability to inspire those around him have shaped Tenable’s culture and mission” , , Art Coviello, Tenable’s lead independent director, said in the announcement. As we advance,” His reputation will continue to guide us.”
Yoran took a skilled leave of absence on , Dec. 5. Tenable’s committee had appointed , Steve Vintz, chief financial officer, and , Mark Thurmond, chief operating officer, as co-CEOs. While the committee searches for a new CEO, the company will continue to operate under their leadership. Coviello may serve as chair.
Before joining Tenable, Yoran had served as president of , RSA Security , and founding CEO of NetWitness.
Yoran, a computer science graduate of the U. S. Military Academy at West Point who enjoyed riding motorcycles, described Feasible as a mission-oriented firm in a , 2023 , Baltimore Sun , history.
