After being suspected of damage, two telecoms cables connecting Estonia and Finland have been repaired, according to Scandinavian controller Elisa.
Four telecoms cables and one energy cable were allegedly sabotaged in Finland on December 25 only after other cables were severed in the area.
The cables have a diameter of just over two centimeters ( 0.78 inches ), and there are several layers of insulation protecting the fibers inside.
New actions that target facilities are a part of a hybrid battle between Russia and Eastern nations, according to some experts and politicians.

Authorities suspect an oil ship named Eagle S, flying the flag of the Cook Islands, of the damage.
Eagle S was transported to a sea close to Finland’s harbor of Porvoo where authorities are now questioning and gathering facts. Eight of the crew members have been identified as suspects in the analysis.
The vehicle is accused of being part of Russia’s so-called” dark fleet”, with which the nation has been transporting Russian crude materials. Russian crude materials are annexed according to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Eagle S’s connection to the location of the damage is” compelling,” Elisa safety main Jaakko Wallenius told the AFP news agency.

It will take months to complete the power connector work.

Wallenius likewise told Reuters news agency that it is possible that an anchor was the one who created the external force that ripped the cables off.
According to Scandinavian controller Fingrid and Elering of Estonia, Estlink 2, the power cord that was damaged on December 25 has not yet been repaired, with labor scheduled to take several weeks.
