Jerusalem: On Wednesday, the Israeli military announced that troops had recovered the body of a captive held in Gaza and were looking into whether another figure had been recovered as well as that of a prisoner. Previously, Israel’s security minister said soldiers recovered the body of two captives.
Yosef Al Zaydani’s body was taken to Israel on Tuesday, according to the military, after it was found in an underwater tunnel close to Rafah, in the Gaza area of Rafah. According to the statement,” those who were uncovered” knowledge about Hamzah Al Zaydani’s child “raised major issues for his life.” Col. Nadav Shoshani, a spokeswoman for the Marines, stated that they were examining the personality of a second set of recovered remains.
Al Zaydani and his brother were taken prisoner during Hamas ‘ invasion on Oct 7, 2023, alongwith 250 people. The remaining 100 victims, according to Israel, are thought to have died. Israel and Hamas are considering a peace offer as the body recovers. Yosef Al Zaydani’s name was listed among 34 captives that a Hamas national had shared and that the organization claimed were scheduled for release.
