I wrote earlier this month about how aloof and tone-deaf the Golden Globes were. I stated in that content that I would have a lot of respect for any actors or actresses who made an argument about this. After all, it’s honors time in Hollywood, and there will be many more options for them to do so. Of course, I had no notion that 24 hours later, Los Angeles would burst into flames, but obviously, that’s what it took for someone to talk away. Also, kind of.  ,

Jean Smart, the actress who just won a Golden Globe for her role in” Hacks,” took to Instagram on Thursday at nightfall to demand that network refrain from hosting televised honors shows this year and give fire victims and paramedics the money they would have earned. Here’s her whole declaration:  ,
Although her speech has some flaws, I’m going to give Ms. Smart some credit for it because I believe” Designing Women” is one of the best shows to ever grace my television. Her soul is in the ideal position. It would be great to see these Hollywood stars miss the exuberance of patting-themselves-on-the-back time and spend their time and money helping others— and I mean really helping others, no only virtue signaling. Boots on the ground. Checkbooks empty. breaking into glass and showing compassion to their own person. They had also distribute the honours, but they could just do it in a private setting. At this point, when people are losing their homes, there is no need to rally around in million-dollar clothes in front of TV monitors.  ,

Some people have praised Smart for speaking out, but some of her supporters have made a few items in the comments area. For example, one user pointed out,” As an employee for said award shows — those of us’ below the line ‘ rely on award season financially to get us through the year… Productions shutting down will further contribute to the demise of LA… We are your drivers, your stylists, caterers, pas, riggers …”  ,  ,
Some just stated that perhaps the sites should air the awards shows and donate the proceeds, which is a little more sensual, while others suggested that the stars themselves had make donations.  ,  ,
According to People magazine, several of these prizes displays have been postponed. The Critics Choice Awards were scheduled to take place on January 12, but they will then take place on January 26. The deadline to submit nominees for Oscars was changed from January 17 to January 19 The SAG Awards live election announcements were canceled, as were many film premieres.  ,
Personally, I didn’t show you the next day I watched one of these shows myself. I’m also not over Meryl Streep disrespectful people who enjoy watching sports in 2017 because of the politics, the fact that I’ve never even heard of half of the exhibits and shows that receive nominations, and the accusations to people outside the Hollywood industry.  ,

However, it will be interesting to see how Tinseltown forges ahead in the months and weeks to arrive when it is a spot known for being very tone-deaf. I feel terrible for anyone who loses their home, whether they have$ 100 or$ 100 million in the bank. At the end of the day, we’re all people, and no matter what happens, I hope all is humble enough to realize that going ahead.  ,
