Ford and Mondale are gone but their eulogies for Carter are read

Despite Ford losing the White House to Carter in 1976, the two built a solid connection. Ford’s child Steven Ford read the speech left behind after his father’s dying in 2006.

Gerald Ford didn’t be the only one who will speak after the death. Carter’s vice chairman, Walter Mondale, even had a speech he wrote for Carter read by his brother, Ted Mondale. Walter Mondale passed away in 2021 at the age of 93. Four decades after Carter, he was born. &nbsp,

” I think my father wrote this speech in 2015 after Carter was diagnosed with brain cancer because, you know, 90-year-olds generally don’t last very long”, said Ted Mondale, who didn’t hear about the speech until after his father died.

Carter died on Dec. 29 at age 100&nbsp, — making him the longest-living leader by six years. Former President George H. W. Bush was the next longest-living leader. He passed away at age 94 next June. &nbsp,

The state funeral for Carter will also include sermons from Jason Carter, Carter’s nephew, and Stuart E. Eizenstat, a&nbsp, White House assistant to Jimmy Carter. &nbsp,

Joshua Carter, Jimmy Carter’s another grandson, will even offer a checking. Andrew Young, who served as Jimmy Carter’s ambassador to the United States, will give the sermon.
