In a telephone contact on Friday, just days before Biden departs business, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked US President Joe Biden for his “unwavering help” of Ukraine’s freedom.
Zelenskyy even expressed condolences for the tragic wildfires that claimed many lives and left a large area of California.
Zelenskyy described the details of the discussion on X as” I spoke with @POTUS and expressed my sympathies over the tragic loss of life in California.” I praised the bravery of Americans who are working hard to stop wildfire multiply and protect lives.
The request comes as Kyiv’s population grows concerned that Donald Trump, who will take office on January 20, does lessen US aid for Ukraine. Zoelenskyy thanked Biden for the significant contribution that the US has made to uniting the global community supporting Ukraine’s cause. Zelenskyy even expressed his unwavering support for Ukraine’s freedom and for the crucial role that the United States has played in uniting the international community, Zelenskyy tweeted.

The two leaders also discussed the continuous military aid and fresh sanctions targeted at Russia’s energy field. Zelenskyy emphasized the significance of the punishment, stating,” We discussed the details of the new US restrictions deal targeting Russia’s energy market, which helps Putin bankroll the battle. Significantly, these sanctions then apply to Russia’s darkness tanker fleet and important businesses like Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegaz, which funnels funds directly to Putin.
The Biden government’s endeavors to provide Ukraine with military aid have been important in maintaining Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s invasion, which continues to fail in achieving its strategic objectives.
