The main US experienced extreme winter weather that caused dangerous journey by causing snow, ice, breeze, and plummeting temperatures. Kentucky set fresh snowfall data, with Louisville receiving 7.7 inches and Lexington 5 feet. Over 3 feet of snow was recorded in Upstate New York as a result of a river effect. Tornado instructions were issued in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Virginia reported 135 wrecks amid snow, while Charleston, West Virginia, urged people to be home.
