Yes, Los Angeles Sent Fire Equipment to Ukraine

California’s leaders ‘ errors have piled up nearly as quickly as fires have spread across Los Angeles this week. While I hate politicizing and pointing fingers when a crisis is still live, the sheer amount of stupidity we’ve seen from the governor of California, the mayor of Los Angeles, the fire captain, and almost every other head at all levels is amazing. With these people in power, I worry that the condition will never be under control. Thank god for the courageous firefighters and people who carry out the actual work. &nbsp,

Only a thought, I hope these rescuers have all the tools they require. &nbsp,

On Wednesday, Donald Trump, Jr. quoted an X post that suggested that the Los Angeles Fire Department ( LAFD ) sent surplus equipment to Ukraine. &nbsp,

Of course, the press didn’t like this. ” Donald Trump Jr. finds way to blame Ukraine for scatter of Los Angeles wildfires”, read an astonished Politico article. Some softly hurried to “fact-check” the state. &nbsp,

Also, as it turns out, that’s very easy to do. On its own webpage, the Los Angeles County Fire Department boasted about it, “LACoFD Joins National Efforts to Help First Firefighters in Ukraine.” The declaration read: &nbsp,

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and Fourth District Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn met at Fire Station 171 in Inglewood on March 17, 2022 to announce that they would meet the national effort to collect and volunteer surplus equipment and gear globally to support first responders in Ukraine. Income items include hoses, nozzles, turnouts, helmets, body armor, and other related personal protective equipment may be collected and sent to help with the shortage.

The supplies had been sitting in storage, according to an ABC affiliate who confirmed the information at the time. But the liberal media wasn’t satisfied with this and continued to fact-check and “debunk” that this donation had nothing to do with the L. A. fires. &nbsp,

” Debunked: Did sending aid to Ukraine leave LA Fire Department unprepared”? read a headline offered up by the ultra-liberal The Independent. But they really don’t offer any actual proof, aside from a random “certified wildfire mitigation specialist” saying as much. ” So, there you have it, there is no link..”. the reporter says with a hint of attitude. &nbsp,

Although it is true that Los Angeles sent supplies to Ukraine, their “fact check” article is mostly just them justifying the move because several other California fire departments sent supplies to Ukraine when war first broke out in the European nation. &nbsp,

You get the idea. I read a number of articles about this subject, and none of them was able to demonstrate that the donations to Ukraine have or have not been any part of what is happening right now. And a number of them go so far as to say that Trump actually made up the claim that the donations are a major factor in why Los Angeles is in this mess, essentially using a short X post to express his disapproval. &nbsp,

Let me give you a real fact-check: &nbsp,

Fact Number One: &nbsp, The junior Trump didn’t say that these donations left the LAFD unprepared. He made the suggestion that it might be a contributing factor. I assumed that this was just one more potential symptom that could have caused the illness. But to actually fact-check what he meant, you’d have to, you know, ask him. &nbsp,

Fact Number Two: I’m certain that the majority of Americans are Ukraine-tired despite the possible negative effects the donations may have had. The Biden administration, which has long outstayed its welcome, announced this week that it will send another$ 500 million to Ukraine while another portion of the country is experiencing brutal winter weather, while many Americans are unable to afford groceries and utilities, and many South Americans are still homeless as a result of devastating hurricanes that have swept through the region in the fall. I can’t think of any American who supports this, but I can feel my blood pressure rising as I write about it. &nbsp,

( And I have a heart for the Ukrainian people because I donated money to them when the war first started. ) But it was my hard-earned cash, not what I presume was taxpayer-purchased equipment that could come in handy one day. )

Fact Number Three: &nbsp, Not a single person in the media, myself included, knows whether the donations to Ukraine have had any impact on the fires. All we can do is make assumptions. I make the assumption that it sounds like everyone in Southern California is mismanaged because no one even knows what’s happening. When it’s all over, I have a feeling you’ll be able to make a movie about the postmortem. &nbsp,

What I do know is that whenever someone associated with Donald Trump sneezes or uses “fact-checking,” the liberal media seems more focused on covering the reality of the situation, which is absolutely repulsive and unfair to Californians. &nbsp,
