Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with US President Joe Biden about the continued agreements for a discharge from the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli PM’s office stated in a statement that the primary minister discussed with the American president the progress being made in the negotiations to free our captives and informed him of the assignment he had given to the negotiating team in Doha to improve the transfer of our captives.
Netanyahu even expressed his gratitude to Biden and the approaching US President.
Biden reiterated calling for an instant Gaza peace, the return of captives, and increased humanitarian assistance. Biden likewise addressed the broader local relationships, referencing Lebanon’s November peace, the fall of Syria’s Bashar al-Assad, and Iran’s reduced control, said the White House.
According to CNN, this was Netanyahu’s second widely known phone contact with Biden since October 2024.
Netanyahu and Bezalel Smotrich, both of whom have opposed the peace and who have demanded that the military continue to fight Hamas, had a chat during which they spoke. They had threatened to step down and overthrow the government.
Netanyahu is under stress from Biden and Trump’s staff. Trump’s presidency has stressed the need for immediate action, with Trump even saying there would be “hell to give” in the Middle East if victims aren’t freed before he takes the oath of office.
In the meantime, supporters of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have emphasized his commitment to achieving a bargain. Netanyahu’s director, Omer Dostri, told Israeli outlet Channel 14 that the state is doing “everything feasible” to finalise an arrangement, though he acknowledged that progress has been “gradual and slow”.
