After capturing opposition leader Mara Corina Machado during a violent assault where shots were fired and uavs were used to locate her, the Cuban government released her on Thursday, according to members of her team.
Machado, deemed as the best president of the Venezuelan criticism, was expected to appear on film Thursday night to provide information of her confinement.
In a short information posted on Machado’s X account, Machado’s group confirmed that she had been freed by the Nicolas Maduro regime following her violent confinement.
” Today, #9Jan, leaving the rally in Chacao, Caracas, María Corina Machado ( @MariaCorinaYA ) was intercepted and thrown off the motorcycle she was riding. Weapon were fired during the event. She was taken away by force. She was forced to document a number of videos during the time of her abduction, which she afterwards released,” it said. She did address the nation in the upcoming hours to describe the events.
People of Machado’s group recently claimed that the regime’s security forces followed Machado after she left the show and that they used the information to erect an invasion.
In a short message on Thursday night, Machado claimed she had escaped harm but that one man had been shot in the head during an assault by regime forces.
” My heart goes out to the Venezuelan who was shot when the government’s restrictive makes detained me.” I’m now secure and more than ever, and I’m ready to stay with you until the day is done! She stated on her X profile that she would inform you of what had happened today and what was coming.
The information the Machado had been detained was received with concern by U. S. officials who constantly keep an eye on Venezuela, including President-elect Donald Trump.
With hundreds of thousands of people protesting against the regime, Colombian democracy activist Maria Corina Machado and President-elect Gonzalez are happily expressing the voices and WILL of the people in Venezuela,” Trump wrote in his X bill. The fantastic Cuban British community in the US overwhelmingly supports a free Venezuela, and they also have long supported me. These freedom soldiers must remain alive and healthy and not suffer.
In Washington, a National Security Council national also deplored the government’s activities. ” We are closely monitoring the public information that Maduro and his supporters are executing Maria Corina Machado, the head of their harassment campaign against Venezuela’s democratic criticism,” Maduro said. We condemn for arrests, persecution and harassment, which never vague the fact that Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia is the real winner of the July 28 votes”.
In support of Gonzalez, who the opposition claims defeated Maduro by a margin of 67 % to 30 %, Machado had previously appeared before thousands of supporters in Chacao during a string of demonstrations held inside and outside Venezuela.
Gonzalez, who left Venezuela in September to prevent arrest, is scheduled to return on Friday to be sworn in as president, despite ideas by Maduro to do the same.
In front of a street full of followers, Machado, who was standing on the roof of a vehicle, said the government had only a few days to go and that its attempts to intimidate residents to be home had failed. I have not experienced such self-confidence. Individuals from all over Venezuela took to the streets.
She had earlier said through her X consideration:” This is over. Venezuela will become costless”!
Machado had been hiding out in response to the government’s repeated threats to assault her, but she had never made public appearances for four months. However, she demanded that all Residents demonstrate in opposition to the election results this year.
A growing number of nations, including those whose governments claim the government’s say that Maduro won with 52 % of the ballot is untrue, especially given its refusal to provide supporting evidence as his detractors have done, are accepting the opponent’s declaration of success.
The vast majority of Venezuelans believe Maduro’s says that he won the election are untrue, with 90 % of Venezuelans now reporting that this is true.
Maduro mobilized the country’s military out of fear that Gonzalez’s returning to Venezuela this year does cause significant turmoil, sending soldiers to patrol the streets of major places, and making new detention of opponents and people he refers to as mercenaries.
Activities in Venezuela were watched with great problem in Miami-Dade, home to the largest Cuban society in the U. S. County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava condemned” the rape and kidnapping” of Machado by Maduro’s causes. She urged the Venezuelan people to release her quickly and put an end to this brutal regime, and we urged her to do so in solidarity with her.
Similar comments were made in Doral, a city where 40 % of the 84, 000 residents are Venezuelans. Mayor Christi Fraga, Vice Mayor Maureen Porras and Doral’s only Venezuelan council member, Rafael Pineyro, also spoke in support of Machado.
Fraga condemned Machado’s kidnapping on Instagram, calling it “another injustice of Maduro’s regime” and reaffirming her support for the Venezuelan people’s fight for liberty and democracy.
” The fall of the regime is inevitable. If anything were to happen to María Corina Machado, the United States must act without fear in the international community”, Pineyro said. ” I want the world to intervene to rescue Venezuela,” I say. Conversations that begin tomorrow must be ruled out. To free a nation that has been kidnapped by drug traffickers, military intervention is required.
