West Texas VA Health Care System , ( WTVAHCS) will host a groundbreaking ceremony at noon , Jan. 27 , for its new , Community Based Outpatient Clinic , ( CBOC ) in , Abilene.
This cutting-edge facility will make it easier for veterans in the area to get high-quality medical care, furthering our commitment to recognize and honor those who have fought for the country. It will be at , 5602 Health Center Drive , in , Abilene.
The groundbreaking ceremony will include comment from , VA , management, local leaders, and society partners, followed by a ceremonial groundbreaking and snacks, a news release said.
Dr.  , Wendell Jones, Director, Veterans Integrated Service Network 17,  , Keith Bass, Medical Center Director,  , West Texas VA Health Care System, native elected officials, community leaders, soldiers and their families will be on hand.
According to the transfer, the event represents a major step forward in improving veterans ‘ access to and use of healthcare in , Abilene , and surrounding areas. The new CBOC will increase the , VA ‘s , capacity to provide key treatment, mental health services, and specialist care closer to where soldiers live and work.
WTVAHCS serves soldiers across , West Texas  , and southeastern , New Mexico, providing detailed health care services at six areas, including the , George H.O’Brien Jr. VA Medical Center , in , Big Spring , and community-based outpatient facilities in , Abilene,  , Fort Stockton,  , San Angelo,  , Odessa , and , Hobbs, New Mexico. They advise all soldiers to locate a , VA , and nearby health facilities and coordinate their online medical requirements.
