BRASILIA: Southeast Brazil’s torrential rains have caused at least 10 fatalities, according to rescue organizations in Minas Gerais position on Sunday.
Around 80 millimeters of rain fell in the town of Ipatinga on Saturday night, causing landslides all over the area. So much, nine casualties have been reported, including an eight-year-old son who was found beneath the wreckage of a home destroyed by the disaster. Additionally, another body was recovered by save groups in Santana do Paraiso, which is close by.
Another flood in the state’s Bethania neighborhood swept everything out of its way along a road on the side of a hill.
As of Sunday evening, one man from the region remained missing, though four people of the child’s family were rescued.
Romeu Zema, the governor of Minas Gerais, issued a statement on social media expressing his” cooperation with the patients.”
