In 2015, President Pen-and-Phone Obama formally changed the name of Mt. McKinley to” Denali”, which is the native Athabascan name for the hills, and which roughly translates to” High One”. William Dickey, a golden miner, gave it the name Mt. McKinley again in 1896.  ,

For what it’s worth, I personally have never called the hill” Denali”. And I always did. So I was relieved when the incoming president, Donald Trump, announced last month that he would reverse the name change and restore the rock to its original brand, Mt. McKinley.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (D-Alaska ) called Trump’s proposition an “awful idea”. It’s a terrible idea to have Murkowski as a legislator.
She lost the 2010 Republican primary, only to win reelection as a write-in candidate thanks to her deep ties to the teachers ‘ unions ( Alaska currently ranks# 46 in the union for education, so the teachers ‘ unions are right on par with expectations ). She attempted to undermine Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination, but she finally found the courage to vote “present.” But, she voted fully to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson, and she voted to oust President Trump. So her understanding of what constitutes an “awful plan” is at odds with what is best for the nation.
Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-INO ) backs up Murkowski, having previously stated that” Denali belongs to Alaska and its citizens”. Basically, the National Park Service, a national institution, owns and manages it. Tax bucks from the other 49 says go to keep the highways, facilities, and maintenance of the hills and its surrounding area.
One would assume it is unnecessary for a terrible like me to educate a senator about what the rules they pass really say. But, alas, here we are. Politicians who pass costs are funded by donors rather than the politicians themselves or even their aides. Our legislators don’t actually read the legislation that they rubber stamp. So Sen. Sullivan may be forgiven for his knowledge. However, the legal reality is that each and every American lives on the rock.

You know what an “awful thought” is? An awful idea is the Left’s ( largely successful ) efforts to erase Western history, Western principles, and Western civilization. When Obama renamed the rock, Sen. Murkowski thanked him for” this significant change to present respect, appreciation, and thanks to the Tribal people of Alaska”. But Obama didn’t do it for the Athabascan individuals. He did it to de-Westernize the property. He did it to physiologically undermine our state to label mountains, rivers, and monuments after American figures. That’s the only reason he did it.
No contempt or dishonoring the Athabascan individuals, but what exactly are we expected to show appreciation for? I’m never asking to be condescending, I’m sincerely interested. As a fellow human be, I’ll generally afford you a measure of respect and dignity. But love? Were the Athabascans instrumental, also peripherally, in curing a disease? In improving foods creation? In the quest of science and technology? In advancing learning? In defending independence from international rulers?
Quinn Christopherson, a transgender singer who won an Radio battle for a song about experiencing “male opportunity” and “erasure” as a transsexual man, is the subject of a Wikipedia search of significant Northern Athabascans that yields the most attention. Often less is more, but in Christopherson’s post-surgical situation, even more is less. I suppose I should be glad the hill wasn’t called” Denalx”, and just call it a day.

But in all seriousness, is there any other rational justification for not using the title Mt. McKinley?
Want to get to Alaska? More than walking, you can go by aircraft to McKinley National Park Airport, decency of the West. Want to get close to the hill? You can get the garden via the George Parks Highway, thanks to the West, by car or bus more than sled dogs.  ,
Once inside the park, you can visit the Murie Science and Learning Center, which is named for the Murie family’s naturalists who, thanks to the West, conducted clinical studies to advance the park’s animals management and preservation. You can also frequent the numerous restaurants and hotels, complete with light, running water, central heat, kitchen, internet access, room service, and interior swimming pools, kindness of the West.
If you decide to travel, the West may have provided the necessary support for the free market economy and its parasitic republican form of government. And if you destroy yourself on the hills, it won’t get a sun owl or a monster bear that rescues you, but a helicopter developing satellite technology, courtesy of the West.  ,
The key is Trump’s claim that he reserves the right to change the name, but whether or not that shift is implemented remains to be seen. He does. And that’s more important than the actual title.

Our predecessors and foremothers built and achieved a country that is a mortal wonder. If not remove those legacy if a wealthy person who only qualified for the president was based on his skin color and his now-defunct coalition of urbanite grievance tourists who pretend to be a spirit animal, full with their Fjallraven backpacks and most recent iPhone upgrades, pretending to relax and interact with their spirit animal.
Maybe Sen. Murkowski’s calls for “honor, respect, and gratitude” should be going in the other direction.
