Los Angeles County’s destructive wildfires have exposed ongoing failures in state and local disaster preparedness and economic policy. Detractors have cited L. A. Governor Jerry Brown and California Governor Karen Bass for their subpar response to the crisis, Gavin Newsom. The attention of Newsom and Bass, both of whom have faced repeated condemnation for California’s poor track record on fire control, has just intensified.

We’ve covered the structural issues that have contributed to the issue over the past week, covering everything from state environmental guidelines to budget cuts at the state and local levels to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s millions of dollars wasting on La programs. Yet LAFD Chief Kristin Crowley acknowledged that the organization was ineffective in handling the disaster, which highlights the shortcomings of local authorities in putting enough effort and planning before priority.  ,
Unfortunately, Democrats and the internet are dismissing the issues and pointing fingers at climate change as the main cause. However, a fresh twist in the tale has emerged: blaming President-elect Donald Trump.  ,
Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass. ) has gone so far as to say that the fire issue has been worsened by Trump’s admitted allegiance to” Big Oil.”
Big Oil has purchased Trump for$ 1 billion. Only a moral justification for the Green New Deal and the IRA. We know what will happen. More burns, more climate catastrophe, more death. The LA flames are preview of coming crimes.

Los Angeles is on fire. Donald Trump urges people to “drill,” “drill,” and” prevent wind and solar.” He will put more energy in the camp.

Of lessons, not one to allow a crisis go to waste, Markey used the opportunity to push for the Green New Deal— which he cosponsored with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N. Y. ), claiming that populations and lives are being ruined by opposing such plans.
Democrats claim that a Green New Deal is inaccessible. What we really didn’t purchase is to sacrifice our life, houses, and populations in flames fueled by the climate crisis. We need a system change, no weather change. https ://t.co/i3JEN41ibb— Ed Markey ( @SenMarkey ) January 10, 2025
According to recent studies, thousands of homes have been destroyed and at least 16 have lost their lives as a result of fires.  ,
Think blaming Trump for California’s fire when he has been urging the state to take more steps to stop them. For decades, Trump has called out California’s mishandling of explosive clean and its water source, pointing to these as essential factors in the fire problems. In 2020, Trump blamed California’s authority for its fire problems, highlighting the lack of appropriate forest management and the country’s failure to properly store and manage water. In October, the Biden presidency halted planned controlled fires.

Los Angeles Wildfires Show That Democrats If Pay Attention to Trump
Detractors scoffed at his press for cleaning up the state’s trees by removing dried leaves, fallen trees, and various fuel for flames, accusing him of misunderstanding fire technology. These criticisms seem to be getting more out of touch with the harsh reality California are facing as the state continues to face catastrophic fire. And now Democrats are blaming Trump for the catastrophe because they are trying to detract from the fact that the fires exposed Democrat incompetence at every stage.
