Yoon Suk Yeol was taken into custody by South Korean government on Wednesday, one fortnight after his simple declaration of martial law.
His attorney confirmed that South Korea’s charged President Yoon agreed to look at the office of researchers probing him for rebellion after the authorities stormed his home to arrest him.
In a pre-recorded digital information, Yoon said that he did not accept the prosecution’s propriety but complied to avoid “bloodshed”. He also claimed that the “rule of legislation has fully collapsed” following his confinement.
Following his arrest, Yoon may get held for up to 48 hours under the current permit. Investigators would have to submit a fresh warrant in order for him to stay in prison. Yoon’s political forces were suspended after the opposition-dominated council impeached him on December 14, accusing him of revolt.

His death now lies with the Constitutional Court, which began deliberating his treatment or restoration. The jury held a simple hearing on Tuesday, but Yoon’s lack delayed trials. A novel hearing is scheduled for Thursday, and the prosecution will continue despite of his presence. Yoon was impeached in December 2024 by a 204-85 voting.
This was Yoon’s next test to be detained. In a multiday activity to apprehend Yoon, who had been staying in his Seoul house for days, over 1, 000 officers and anti-corruption soldiers were involved.

Yoon had justified his military laws as needed to store an “anti-state” criticism. The national security company had previously attempted to stop earlier efforts, but despite a detention warrant, and the conflict escalated with Yoon’s supporters and critics protesting outside. Yoon’s solicitors had been negotiating his deliberate questioning, but his imprisonment then shifts emphasis to the Constitutional Court’s proceedings on his prosecution.
After a six-hour conflict, Yoon’s attorney from South Korea’s anti-corruption agency discovered that they had failed to prosecute him at his house on January 3. Political stability services blocked their entrance, citing security concerns.
Yoon has been living at his place since December 12 as a result of his declaration of martial law and following prosecution. On Tuesday, a judge issued a confinement warrant on suspicion of rebellion.
