During his Tuesday Senate confirmation reading, Pete Hegseth provided his best circumstance still on why he’s the best person to become President-elect Donald Trump’s defence minister.
The Army veteran noted that Trump’s “primary fee” was “bring the hero society back to the Department of Defense,” making remarks before the Armed Services Committee. He immediately detailed how he intends to make the Pentagon into an organization “laser focused on warfighting, mortality, democracy, requirements, and preparation”.
” Peace Through Strength may be achieved by the Defense Department under Donald Trump.” And in pursuing these America Second national surveillance goals, we will be nobly a-political and vociferously Constitutional”, Hegseth said. ” Unlike the recent leadership, politics may play no part in defense things. We are National troops, no Republicans or Democrats. Our standards will be high, and they will be equal ( not equitable, that is a very different word )”.
Since coming to power nearly four years ago, the Biden-Harris Pentagon has made implementing neo-Marxist ideologies such as “diversity, equity, and inclusion” ( DEI ) a top priority. These tactics have undermined military eagerness and contributed to the company’s continued recruiting problems.
Hegseth emphasized that the Defense Department “must ensure that every hero is fully qualified for their assigned weapons program, every pilot is fully qualified and up to date with their aircraft, and every public or symbol officer is chosen for leadership solely based on performance, readiness, and merit.” He added that” we will hold officials accountable at all amounts,” and that “warfighting and mortality, and the preparation of the soldiers and their households, will be our only focus.”
Hegseth said,” That has been my rely ever since I first put on the dress as a fresh Army ROTC cadet at Princeton University in 2001. I enlisted because I felt compelled to defend my land because I adore it. I served with remarkable Americans in Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, Afghanistan and in the streets of Washington, DC — many of which are around today. This includes Muslim allies from Iraq and Afghanistan as well as joined men who I helped to convert to American citizenship. And when I took off the uniform, my vision not stopped”.

The original Fox News number described the three-prong view he and Trump will adopt to restore mortality and effectiveness to the military. Specifically, he noted that the incoming administration may focus on bringing back the government’s “warrior ethos”, rebuilding the company’s damaged system, and reestablishing “deterrence” to make peace on the world stage.
Hegseth also responded to Democrat allegations that he’s not “qualified” to serve as defense secretary. The Army veteran acknowledged that he doesn’t “have a biography like defense secretaries of the last 30 years” but that “we’ve repeatedly placed people atop the Pentagon with supposedly” the right credentials” — whether they are retired generals, academics, or defense contractor executives, and where has it gotten us”?
President-elect Trump “believes, and I humbly agree, that it’s time to give someone with dust on his boots the helm. A change agent. Someone who has no vested interest in particular businesses, programs, or approved narratives, Hegseth said.
The Army veteran reaffirmed that his “only special interest is]America’s ] warfighter]s] ,]d ] eterring wars, and if called upon, winning wars — by ensuring our warriors never enter a fair fight”. He further emphasized the importance of the military letting its troops “win” and then “bring]ing ] them home”.
” Like many of my generation, I’ve been there. I’ve led troops in combat, been on patrol
for days, pulled a trigger downrange, heard bullets whiz by, flex-cuffed insurgents, called
in close air support, led medevacs, dodged IEDs, pulled out dead bodies, and knelt before a battlefield cross”, Hegseth said. “]T] his is not academic for me, this is my life. I led then, and I will lead now”.
