The president-elect and Newsom have engaged in a common back-and-forth regarding the management of the fire, which are expected to be the costliest natural catastrophe in U. S. story. The conflict between the two comes as Democrat lawmakers discussion whether to include disaster aid for the wildfires in a debt cap increase.

George Whitesides (D-CA ), a freshman lawmaker whose district has been severely affected by the fires, added,” I’m new here, but I don’t believe conditions should be attached to disaster aid.” In California, we must assist the Americans in the same way we have in North Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana in times of need.
