Heather Williams, a 25-year-old girl with cognitive impairment, was found dead in a wooded area in Fayetteville, North Carolina, last week after being seen on a door camera getting into a girl’s vehicles on January 4.
Williams ‘ cognitive impairment had led to the Fayetteville police department’s launch of a missing people research and the release of an endangered people call. According to a report from the New York Post, her body was found by the police on Friday around 5 p.m. local time, about 5 miles from where she was next seen dead. Her suicide is the subject of a homicide investigation.
Williams ‘ sister, Mary, confirmed the news on Facebook, saying,” It is with a large and broken spirit that our home confirms the brutal information. I pray that Holly is held responsible and that those who are held accountable do so.
According to local law enforcement, Williams was last seen on a Ring door leaving her mother’s Fayetteville house and entering a “light-colored sedan with a roof” around 10 am native time on January 4.
After being struck by a car in 2015, Mary speculated that Williams, who had limited speech, minimal talk, and limited use of her right foot and shoulder, might have met the person who was driving the vehicle online. She said,” She was just so naive and trusting in what the risks were out there.” She claimed to WRAL that the driver of the car was unknown to the community.
The suspect’s vehicle was located on the same day Williams ‘ body was found. According to the New York Post, researchers have some prospects but haven’t yet identified a potential interest in the case.
Mary expressed her concern about the offender still being at large, saying,” What happened to Heather is awful and I wouldn’t want it to happen to anybody else, and so with that people still out there, however able to harm other people, it’s brutal to think about”.
Williams ‘ steadfast faith and love for God bring the family satisfaction. ” I thank God for the times we had with her”, Mary said.
