Los Angeles Fire Department Fire Chief Kristin Crowley has been transforming the office with “diversity, capital, and inclusion”, according to records obtained by The Federalist. The section is short on resources, and capital payroll problems have made it difficult to properly compensate its paramedics and paramedics.
According to reports that Crowley and other department officials have been pushing DEI, with the diversity chief receiving a salary of$ 300, 000 due to the city’s poor handling of recent wildfires. Pushing Leftist Worldview
The department’s seven major objectives are included in the corporate strategy. These objectives, Crowley told people in September 2023, “engage our account to operate towards achieving the Department’s goals”. One of the goals is creating” an organisational culture that embraces diversity, equity, and addition” . ,
The Strategic Plan details” strategies” for subverting the department with DEI:” Promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion ( DEI ) as systemic values and principles throughout the organization”, create an” Equity and Human Resources Bureau” to “advance the Department’s DEI vision”,” Reduce invisible barriers to DEI”, and “improve the diversity of recruits” . ,
It also includes certain “tactics” to these ends, demanding officials” teach all supervisors to get shift agents”. Other tactics include “provid]ing ] DEI education to all members on a recurring basis”, “centraliz]ing ] personnel services and human resources operations under” the Equity and Human Resources Bureau, “deliver]ing ] a DEI toolkit and coaching to department members”, and “expand]ing ] the cadet program in underrepresented communities”.
When announcing the program in April 2023, Crowley told members it do” clearly identify the priorities, direction, and goals of our organization” in “providing exceptional public safety to our various and expanding communities”.
Crowley even distributed” #OneTeamLAFD” advertising advertisements across the office. ” Inclusion is an activity. Belonging is an outcome”, reads an instance in the program.
In a July 2023 note to users, Crowley said the posters may become “delivered to all job locations” that year. Please replace the current diversification banners with ONETEAM posters so that our members and the general public may see them, she wrote.
Crowley used a number of other means to raise DEI in the office. For Juneteenth next month, she called on people to “reflect on the importance of diversity, equity, and incorporation within our rates”.

In honor of Women’s History Month last month, Crowley urged the LAFD to” continue to fight for the equality and inclusion of all who possess the passion and fix.”
The agency’s variety chief, Deputy Chief Kristine Larson, just sparked backlash when she blamed the victim for believing that female firefighters are not powerful enough for the job.

Crowley admitted to” known issues in Workday]the state’s new payment system ] and give discrepancies” in a July 2024 letter obtained by The Federalist. According to her, the issues are “affecting some city employees in various Agencies, including the Los Angeles City Fire Department.”
According to Crowley, the city’s controller’s office “is aware of numerous issues that the city is having with the new workday system, which is causing errors in paycheck calculations and processing,” and she reaffirmed that she would work with the city to” correct all pay errors” ( preferred ).
