On Wednesday, US President-elect Donald Trump declared that he would use the Gaza ceasefire agreement to further the Abraham Accords, US-sponsored agreements signed during his first name that had normalized Israel’s relationships with various Muslim countries.
Israel and Hamas reached a five-month peace on Wednesday to put an end to the 15-month fight in Gaza, which has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of Palestinians. In trade for Palestinians held in Israeli prison, the contract allows for the release of victims that Hamas militants took hostages during their assault on Israel on October 7, 2023.
Trump expressed his satisfaction at the news, which he had constantly threatened to do in the past if the captives weren’t released before his opening on January 20.
This Amazing ceasefire agreement could only have been reached as a result of our ancient triumph in November, which signaled to the entire world that my administration would find peace and discuss agreements to ensure the safety of all Americans and our Friends. Trump expressed his excitement that hostages held by the US and Israel may be brought back home to be reunited with their loved ones on his Truth Social system.
The president-elect further stated that his national security staff would continue to work strongly with Israel and its allies through the efforts of special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, to prevent Gaza from ever again becoming a “terrorist healthy shelter.”
With this agreement in place, my National Security group will continue to work with Israel and our allies to ensure that Gaza NEVER suddenly becomes a criminal safe haven, thanks to the efforts of Specific Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
Abraham Accords expansion speed at a stop-fire
Trump also made a pledge to develop the Abraham Accords, which normalized Israel’s relationships with a number of Arab nations during his first term, using the speed from the peace.
As we build on the speed of this peace to further develop the Ancient Abraham Accords,” We will continue to promote PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH throughout the place.” This is only the start of great things to come for America, and however, the World”! he said.
Trump added that they had accomplished a lot without actually entering the White House, and that even greater things would happen when he were to return.
” We have accomplished a lot without even entering the White House. Just think of all the great things that may occur when I return to the White House and when my leadership is fully confirmed, so that they can secure more victories for the United States.
Israel-Hamas issue
The Israel-Hamas issue escalated on October 7, 2023, when Hamas-led gunmen breached security barriers and entered Israeli border-area communities, killing 1,200 soldiers and civilians and abducting over 250 foreign and Israeli hostages. Israel’s subsequent air and ground war in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of over 46,000 people, according to Gaza Health Ministry figures. It has left the coastal enclave in ruins, with hundreds of thousands of displaced people struggling to survive the winter in tents and makeshift shelters.
