A chaotic scene appeared during a House Oversight Committee meeting between South Carolina’s Republican representative Nancy Mace and Texas ‘ Democratic representative Jasmine Crockett.
The debate began when Crockett said,” child, talk” during a conversation about civil rights, children’s rights, and trans rights.
Mace, clearly angered by Crockett’s opinion, responded,” I’m no baby! Do not visit me a baby! I’m no baby. Don’t even begin. I’m a grown person. I’m 47 years older. You won’t do that because I have broken glass roof more than you have always done. I’m hardly a child … If you don’t take it around, we can do that”.
Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Kentucky attempted to restore attempt by slamming his hand as the two members exchanged words. People had been heard saying,” Order! Purchase! Purchase”!
Eventually, Crockett accused Democrats of targeting” the most susceptible in our state”, stating,” Trans individuals ain’t goin’ no where. Just like when the oppressors wanted to ensure that all Black people in this country would somehow be demonized. We ain’t left either”.
Both Mace and Crockett continued to fight on social media with the hashtag X. See this:” To see the distinction between House Democrats and House Republicans, see this: I introduced an act immediately to restore the Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. My Democratic coworker threatened to actually assault me in the situation. Bless her heart”, said Crockett.
While Mace in her blog said,” I’m no baby. And if I wanted a real battle, you’d hear it. That’s not what this was. When giving lectures on legal right, I didn’t be bullied by someone who wants to end women’s rights. Anyone who believes being scared of murder is a “fantôme” didn’t bully me. ” This ain’t political, it’s personal”.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Mace more clarified her motives, saying she wanted to have a more constructive dialogue off the floor, not to fight. ” There’s been a lot of debate about my motives during a heated exchange on women’s rights earlier today on Oversight”, she said. ” Let me be clear: I wanted to take the talk off the floor to have a more creative conversation, not to fight. There was never any intention of causing harm to someone. I was only recently assaulted by a professional tr*nsman, and I’m still receiving natural therapy for my wounds. I am aware of how the Left is capable of causing actual bodily injury. I will not be bullied into obedience, I will not be called titles by my acquaintances like I was now, I will not be belittled, or invalidated—especially as a rape survivor. She continued in her speech,” I will always have up for women and fight against left-wing fanaticism that seeks to silence our voices and deny our right.”
Crockett’s office responded to Mace’s statement, claiming that Mace was threatening physical violence against Crockett and that her” slur-ridden screed” exemplified the need for reinstating the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.
The incident occurred the day that the House passed legislation forbiding trans athletes from competing in women’s activities in officially supported institutions. The Texas-based Democrat Representatives ‘ Support for the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act was 218 votes in favor and 206 against.
