When President Joe Biden addressed the audience for the last day, he penned many phrases and criticized Big Tech for removing its so-called “fact-checkers.”
” Social advertising is giving up on fact-checking. The truth is smothered by sits, told for strength and for income”, Biden said. ” We must maintain the social platforms accountable to protect our children, our communities, and our very politics from the abuse of power”.
Evidently, Biden’s Democratic aides are most concerned about “abuse of energy” coming from regular people who disprove the administration’s preferred viewpoints online, or at least his Democrat aides. However, they have shown genuine enthusiasm for abuses of power, like weaponizing the Department of Justice, flooding illegals into the country, and using Biden’s favorite “fact-checkers” to authorities speech online.
Because of their unpopular thoughts, Democrats need repression. These positions are unworkable on their own, from supporting authoritarian Covid mandates to bigoted “antiracism” to child mutilation by transgender people. During the Trump administration, the situation was even worse, as platitudes replaced any useful policy, and America’s absentee president left White House staffers to do this poor approach.
November’s poll proved this. Despite Democrats ‘ best efforts using” Bidenbucks” — or later,” KamalaCash” — to co-opt federal agencies as leftist “get out the vote” machines, they lost the presidential bid by a landslide. However, had liberals continued to dominate public discourse, the success of former president Donald Trump might have been more difficult. If it had been eliminated completely, Trump’s margin of victory could have been even larger.
As The Federalist’s Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway noted on X,” Without’ reality’ ‘ checkers’ and another censorship tools, Democrats may get some fewer victories”.
Shaping the Tale
Federal officers, Big Tech, and identity press colluded to shape the censorship-industrial advanced. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, a major component of the federal government’s large speech enforcement apparatus, is a significant component of its censorship hub, which is a division of the Department of Homeland Security. CISA worked with” Zuckbucks” groups in 2020 and targeted election conversation it deemed “mis-, dis-, and malinformation”.
By 2020, both Twitter ( now X ) and Facebook ( now Meta ) had adopted “fact-checking” from supposed experts — many of whom acted as government-funded left-wing activists. Top federal officials collaborated with Big Tech companies to reduce inconvenient articles like the Hunter Biden computer history, as revealed in the Twitter Files and Facebook Files. While social media censored liberals, legacy media effectively parroted Democrat talking items.
The government-censorship advanced has stifled the coverage of the media outlets that refuse to sound program talking points, such as those that criticize Covid mandates, cover DEI prejudice in universities, and expose horrifying transgender surgeries on children.  ,
The International Engagement Center, a” subagency” of the State Department, helped create censorship resources for Big Tech companies, as The Federalist originally reported. Through this system, the State Department funded the” Global Disinformation Index”— which targets liberal media locations, including The Federalist, in an effort to defund them. The Federalist, The Daily Wire, and the state of Texas sued in 2023 for First Amendment breaches.  ,
Losing Control?
When Elon Musk purchased Snapchat and changed its name to X in 2022, he freed the system from the national data censors who censored American conversation. This struck a blow to the censorship-industrial advanced. Liberals have used federal agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission, against Musk since then.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has even seemingly defected from the censorship-industrial advanced. The businessman sent$ 400 million in” Zuckbucks” through communist organizations to affect local election authorities in 2020, boosting Democrat participation. However, after the initial death effort against Trump, he began to change his tune and, more recently, rebranded himself as a person who supports free conversation. The Federalist’s questions were not answered by the company, but Meta did end its fact-checking plan last month, allegedly by stepping down from the government enforcement position that had repeatedly censored The Federalist. Meta’s scheme change evidently drew Biden’s outrage in his farewell tackle, spurring his remarks about fact-checking.
In contrast, the government-funded International Engagement Center has faced increasing attention. The GEC’s money was cut after Congress ended this month, so the subagency shut down operations on December 23. However, according to the Washington Examiner, the State Department intended to move more than 50 Management staff and tens of millions of dollars to a new organization called the” Counter Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference Hub” in December. This action was essentially bring back the GEC.
Biden’s mediocre farewell speech may seem like the last breath of a democratic repression government, which faces its biggest threat since its founding, a second Trump administration. But, as seen in the GEC’s possible resurrection, the battle is far from over.
As Mike Benz, chairman of the Foundation for Freedom Online, said to One America News,” The free talk battle is just getting started”.
