If coming President Donald Trump honors their ask for “full and absolute pardons,” pro-life activists who have been subject to political trial by President Joe Biden’s armed Department of Justice may have a chance to win clemency.
Nearly two hundred requests were submitted to Trump asking for those who were “unjustly imprisoned” and “unjustly convicted” to advocate for the protection of living in the womb as national break. The Thomas More Society has represented several of the quiet protest who have been targeted by the Biden administration for their opposition to baby-killing.
In the letter that comes with the requests, it states,” These people participated in sheer civilized legal defiance, in the kiln of the American Civil Rights activists. ” Harmonious steps like these often merit, at worst, a slight criminal conviction. And Joe Biden would have given them medals if they had opposed anything but pregnancy; instead, Biden wanted them to be branded as” convicted felons” and spend years imprisoned in a federal prison.
Despite at least  , 90 , abortion-fueled , firebombings, theft, and other , strikes on lifesaving maternity facilities, pro-life businesses, and churches after the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson , judgment was publicized, Biden’s DOJ focused almost exclusively on targeting pregnancy dissidents.
Ultimately, only five of the 60 FACE Act , cases pursued by the Biden regime zeroed in on pro-abortion extremists. The other 55 targeted people who value life in the womb for , praying, singing, and evangelizing.
Among those” selfless, sincere patriots” hoping for pardons are communist concentration camp survivor Eva Edl and the dad of 11 children Paul Vaughn, who became a” convicted felon under house arrest”, for praying at a Nashville abortion facility.
Progressive pro-life activist Lauren Handy, who was sentenced to 57 months in prison and three years supervision, and 75-year-old-woman-feels-joy-face-two-year-prison-sentence-pro-life-activism/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Paulette Harlow, a 75-year-old woman with a debilitating medical condition, are also asking for the criminal records they received in exchange for protesting the possibly illegal abortion methods at a Washington, D. C., abortion facility to be removed.
Trump has repeatedly endorsed the lawfare victims. During a June 2024 , speech , to the Faith and Freedom Coalition, he specifically pledged to help the people who Biden “rounded up, sometimes with SWAT teams, and thrown in jail” on day one of his presidency.
” Many people are in jail over this,” the statement read. This is just crazy. We’re going to get that taken care of immediately. First Day. Immediately”, Trump proclaimed.
Trump stated in the same speech that he would “rapidly review the cases of every political prisoner who has been unfairly victimized by the Biden regime, including Paulette,” in order to “get them out of the gulags and back to their families where they belong.
The Republican has ample legal justification and justification to support his promise, according to the Thomas More Society. All of the convictions, the letter states, were obtained by the weaponized DOJ under the unconstitutional Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances ( FACE ) Act.
The FACE Act’s provisions were expressly limited at its enactment, and the penalties imposed were set.
The Biden DOJ flagrantly violated Congress’s instructions by being allegedly sharply circumscribed.
in its pursuit of the prosecutions here”, the attorneys wrote.
Many pro-lifer convictions “flout the clear teaching” of the recent Fischer decision, and some were only secured because of unfair trial denial, according to the attorneys ‘ letter.
We are optimistic that the second Trump administration will bring a new day for pro-life advocates who have experienced FBI searches, federal prosecutions, and severe punishment for peacefully and courageously witnessing for life, according to Thomas More Society Executive Vice President and Head of Litigation Peter Breen, in a statement. By granting the presidential pardons, President Trump has a unique opportunity to stop the law against peaceful pro-lifers and undo some of the unprecedented harm caused by the Biden administration.
