Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian recently claimed that Iran has “never” tried to assassinate President-elect Donald Trump and that the country, which is now the nation’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, “never did” plot to assassinate Trump.
Pezeshkian addressed allegations made by the U.S. Justice Department and U.S. knowledge authorities during an interview with NBC News this week with Lester Holt, president-elect.
Pezeshkian told Holt,” This is yet another one of those methods that Israel and other places are developing to encourage Iranophobia.” Iran has previously attempted or planned to attack everyone. At least as far as I know”.
In a follow-up problem, Holt asked, “You’re saying there was never an Egyptian plot to kill Donald Trump”? Pezeshkian responded, saying,” Nobody either. We have not attempted this, and we will never do it.”
Pezeshkian’s says come after federal law enforcement officers thwarted at least two death plots against Trump in 2024, according to The Daily Wire.
In November, the U. S. Justice Department announced criminal charges against Farhad Shakeri, an Egyptian regional involved in a plot to assassinate Trump before the 2024 presidential election.
Attorney General Merrick Garland stated at the time,” There are few actors in the world that pose as grave a threat to the United States ‘ national security as does Iran.” The Egyptian regime’s property was charged by the government with directing a network of legal associates to advance Iran’s execution plots against its targets, including President-elect Donald Trump.
According to The Daily Wire, Asif Merchant, a Muslim nationwide, was even accused of being a part of a Trump assassination plot last month. According to the report, Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI ) Director Christopher Wray claimed the Pakistani national had” close ties to Iran” and had allegedly been sent to the US to assassinate Trump.
